While I was in Morocco I met Kelly Peyton, the creator, founder of Ma Wovens and total bad-ass. Their mission is to create sustainable yoga mats using recyclable goods. Not only do I appreciate their commitment to the environment, I really love the mats. They’re unlike anything I’ve used before because my hands don’t slip and they are super comfy.(more…)
Leigh Wagner and I had never met before but we crossed paths on Instagram. From there we tossed ideas back and forth before we finally got to work together. Leigh is a nutritionist in Kansas City that wanted to do away with the stock photos she was using. She wanted to feature herself within her service and develop her brand. This was a special assignment for me because I love food and I love to cook. We shared our favorite recipes, we talked about how our cooking has evolved over time and bonded over our mutual appreciation for good home…
Imagine this: 2 weeks under the Moroccan sun at the doing yoga. Abbi invited me on her retreat to Morocco. My job was to create content she could use to advertise her grand adventures. It wasn't that tough because Morocco is such a beautiful place. Morocco has so much character, charm and all of the locals we met were very warm and welcoming. Abbi and I ventured into the Medina with the mission to get lost and capture magic. We played with textures and movement to illuminate the dichotomy of something so still as yoga vs the chaos of the Medina.
What to say about Peter Rushmore? I met him while traveling and hes such a fun person to talk to. He has so many excellent stories he can keep you entertained for hours. Peter is the CEO and founder of Shar Snacks. He needed a variety of head shots for different occasions. We took an hour in the morning and had some fun. I wanted to portray a serious enough photo for a CEO but still allow for his exuberant personality show through.
One thing I learned through this couple is to go with the flow. Everything on Mike and Christens big day was absolutely stunning but due to circumstances out of everyone control things got delayed. This didn’t phase Mike and Christen though, they stuck a smile on their face and continued on like nothing ever happened.
The Venue: Tobacco Barn Farm in Kansas City, Missouri
It all started at my house in Kansas city, I was frantically packing the night before a big trip because it doesn’t matter if my luggage gets there because its all part of the story if it doesn’t. Everything strewn about and I’m contemplating what I should pack for my short time in Chicago.(more…)
In today's society we struggle to feel satisfied with our bodies, appearances, jobs... the list can go on and on. Both men and women struggle with these issues but the pressure to conform can be much harder on women.
